Long Handle Polyester Cleaning Swabs

TIDDOX long-handle polyester cleanroom swabs are designed for controlled cleaning, sampling, surface analysis, validation work, and applying and removing solvents. They are recommended for swab sampling to check the cleanliness of equipment surfaces and levels of carbon residuals, especially when using the total organic carbon analysis method. 

The swab head is made of thick, double-layered polyester knit material designed to improve absorbency. It is also capable of picking up trace levels of organic contaminants like carbohydrates, proteins, and acids.

The polyester material has a low contamination risk after being washed in a cleanroom to reduce excess ions, particles, and nonvolatile residues. Additionally, the polyester head is thermally bonded to the swab rather than using adhesive to fix it to the handle paddle to further minimize the risk of contamination.

The polyester knitted material also makes the head on this swab solvent-resistant. This means it is compatible with cleaning solutions, such as chemicals, alcohol and lubricants. As such, these swabs are often used to apply (and remove) chemical solutions, alcohol, adhesives and lubricants to surfaces. In addition, the long polypropylene handle is also compatible with chemical contact.

The 6” long polypropylene paddle extends the reach into difficult-to-reach areas, allowing precision cleaning of recessed crevices, joints, grooves, and other tiny, hard-to-access spaces. It is also ideal for swabbing flat areas and cleaning hard-to-reach surfaces.

The combination of a long polypropylene handle and a polyester head makes this swab preferable for pharmaceutical users over traditional long-handle cotton swabs. This is due to its cleanliness advantages and suitability for critical cleaning in controlled environments.
